Our Story
Local Appetite Growers founders Will Mastin and Karl Brantley formed Local Appetite Growers in 2012 with the mission of providing the freshest and healthiest produce to the local community. We now specialize in growing Hydroponic Lettuces and specialty produce in a no-till bed system. The farm is now open for many events including Venue Rentals, on site Market Days, and U-Pick Flowers.
Gourmet Lettuce
We specialize in growing the finest gourmet lettuces. We grow the lettuce in hydroponic growing channels in controlled environment greenhouses. Hydroponic growing techniques use water and nutrient solution in place of the soil, providing a very clean and healthy plant. This system allows us to produce lettuce year round.
Event Venue
Our Barn Venue is available for rent for events and parties. Have your own event at our farm in an outdoor setting. Please contact us with questions for your next event.
Farm Tours
We offer tours of our farm to the public by appointment only. The tours are $10 per person and usually take about 45 minutes. We cater to school groups, garden clubs, and other organizations. Contact for more info.
Pastured Meat and Eggs
Pasture Raised Chickens, Eggs, Heritage Pork, and, American Wagyu Beef are available seasonally.
Where to Find Our Products
We sell our Lettuces at the Finest Restaurants in the Mobile Bay area. Our lettuce is also available at Local Retailers including McKenzie Farm Market , Fairhope Piggly Wiggly, Hazel's, Fairhope Health Foods, Ahi Seafood, and Mosley's in Daphne. We also open our farm for an on site seasonal Farmers Market on Fridays from 8-12 noon
